Keeping tyres inflated to optimum pressure is important. It will:

• prolong the life of the tyre
• improve the ride as a harder tyre will roll more efficiently on the road
• help to prevent punctures.

You will need to pump up your tyres or at least check the tyre pressure:

• after having fixed a puncture or replaced a tube
• every time you ride. Tyres slowly loose pressure over time and they will need to be topped up with air at regular intervals.

The optimum tyre pressure can be found on the side of the tyre.
