I just want to say a big, big thank you to John Styles and the rest of the Revel Team who kept me supplied with hot tea and kept washing my bike down throughout the night. With our your help I would have bailed out alot earlier. Dispite the conditions being quite extreme at times, I have now caought the bug for 12 hour racing and can not wait for the next one now!!

Thanks David. I hope we’re able to encourage people in Bury to use their bikes a bit more, for transport (through the cycle to work scheme) or just to get fitter and have a bit of fun.

Local races suits me fine, I will be back racing this year!! Friday night races and local stuff possibly midlands XC and some SAMS XC, Not too much road may do some TT as working tues & thurs eves now & of course some training on the black stuff. May even join NTCC!

The Cambridge Sport Lakes facility (http://www.cambridgesportlakes.org.uk) looks great, but progress seems to have ground to a halt. There don’t seem to be any plans on estimated completion dates, unless I just can’t see them. The other potential option is the new London velodrome being built for the Games:

There’s an oval outdoor “cycle track” in the Phase One plans for the Cambridge Sport Lakes facility between Milton and Waterbeach. They also claim “A triathlon facility suitable for day-to-day training and hosting all levels of competition. A 3-mile long cycle circuit built to international competition standards.” for info — which has been all about the Milton Country Park this year, not on progress with the Sport Lakes….
